Update March 2020 - tours in the foreseeable future are postponed based on advice from the Institute of Tourist Guiding to comply with Government guidance regarding social-distancing. Cross the River Irwell into Salford for stories of the city's heroes and villains of the past - sportsmen, rescuers, fighters, thieves, scientists and philanthropists.

Highlighting Manchester women overshadowed by more famous local heroines. Artists, writers, performers, prostitutes, midwives, a murderer... but no suffragettes.

Tales of love and rather more loss over the centuries - a jilted lover, domestic disputes, a jealous fiance, an amorous trader, a grieving wife. Some adult themes.
