Suffragettes, socialites, millworkers, millionaires, pioneers, prostitutes - find out about the Mancunian women of the past.
This tour will introduce a range of feisty females, from those who fought to get the vote, to those who misbehaved. The roles of the original domestic goddess, a millionaire widow, and the city’s first socialite will be explored, and their legacies revealed. You’ll hear of real women who acted out of love, fear, a desire for fun or a wish to improve this city.
